Is there a contract?

There is no contract with the Trak4. You are free to start and stop your monthly subscription as you please. You may also opt for the prepaid annual subscription option.

Does Trak4 have an app?

Trak4 utilizes state-of-the-art responsive webapp technology to bring your tracking data to your fingertips in the fastest and cleanest fashion.

How does it work?

The Trak4 calculates position using GPS satellites and Cell Tower Trilateration. It wakes up based on your reporting interval and sends location data to gps.trak-4.com over the AT&T cellular network.

Yes, the Trak4 is weatherproof.

How big is the Trak4?

The Trak4 is just under 5 inches long by 3 inches wide by 1.1 inches tall.

Does the Trak4 come with a warranty?

The Trak4 comes with a two-year limited warranty.

Is the Trak4 rechargeable? If so, how?
  • USB model: Micro-USB charger
  • 12V model: Charges via vehicle wiring
  • Solar model: Charges in sunlight (20+ hrs/week recommended)

Does Trak4 store GPS reports when out of cell range?
Map History Feature – What do the blue and green pins indicate?
  • Blue pins: last 24 hours
  • Green pins: older than 24 hours
Movement-based tracking – How long was my asset stopped?
  • Check the Report History page
  • Look for reports with no MPH reading
  • Reports are sent when movement stops, every 24 hours while stopped, and when movement resumes

How do I use the Trak4?
  1. Charge device for 3 hours
  2. Create account at gps.trak-4.com
  3. Enter device keycode
  4. Select subscription
  5. Choose reporting frequency

Where should I put the Trak4 on my asset?
  • Partial sky visibility recommended
  • Avoid metal obstruction

Trak4 Troubleshooting

Why isn’t my Trak4 reporting?
  • Battery charged?
  • Check dashboard warnings
  • Move to open sky
  • Remove metal obstruction
Why does my Trak4 sometimes miss a GPS report?

If cell signal is weak, reports are stored and sent later.

  • 3:00 PM report stored
  • 4:00 PM sends both reports
Why is my Trak4 location wrong?
  • GPS = very accurate
  • Cell = may be off up to a mile
  • Improve sky visibility to reduce Cell reports
How do I charge my Trak4?
  • Remove end-cap
  • Connect micro-USB
  • Charge up to 5 hours
  • Replace cap after charging
